Shedding some light on mental illness:
Mental health means an absence of mental illness. If your mental or emotional state quickly gets worse, or you’re worried about someone, you need to take it seriously. It shouldn’t be taken for granted as it affects our thinking capacity, how we perceive or feel, and act.
Were you aware?
Did you know mental illnesses affect 19% of the adult population, 46% of teenagers and 13% of children each year? People fighting this disease could be in front of you, kith, kin, could work next in your cubicle, or may sit next to you.
Sadly speaking, nearly half or below seek mental health treatment. The two broad mental health conditions are mood and anxiety disorders. Good news is that due to mental awareness, campaigns etc. general perception of mental illness has improved.
There are many programs launched to combat mental health sufferings, one of them is Mental Health America (MHA) which has been the leading community since 1909.
Their work is driven by a commitment to promoting mental health as a critical part of overall wellness, they prioritize people over interest groups. The best thing is that their current work is backed by the Before Stage 4 (#B4Stage4) philosophy – that mental health conditions should be treated long before they reach the most critical points in the disease process.
They’ve designed many tests to cure this illness, to name a few, they are the depression test, the youth test, PTSD test, the anxiety test, and so forth. One of the extreme mental illness is suicide and a National Suicide Prevention came into action! They could be reached at 1 (800) 273-8255.
